WHAT IS APL?

The Active Playful Learning (APL) Project is collaboration between Loudoun County Public Schools and the University of Virginia to implement instruction that emphasizes active, engaged, and meaningful learning that is collaborative, iterative, and joyful. APL is a content neutral pedagogical approach based on the science of learning through strengthening teaching practices to foster deeper learning and enhance the joy for teaching.

This project focuses on enhancing APL practices in math, while working with your existing curriculum and VA standards to support teaching practices that build the skills students need to succeed in school and in life (e.g., LCPSs 5 Cs + Confidence).
